Website Updates and Possible Disruptions

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes over the past few months preparing a new website—cleaner, faster, stronger. We’re beginning the migration today and continuing over the next few days. We hope to have the process completed by Monday, July 4, ahead of the release of Issue 132. Please be aware, however, that this process might have the unintended consequence of making elements of our site inaccessible or difficult to view until the migration is complete. Upcoming Patreon and Subscription Changes

Apex Magazine first launched in 2005. Since then, we’ve released 131 issues, 553 stories, and two-and-a-half million words of strange, shocking, surreal, beautiful fiction. When we reopened in 2020, we returned at our current price of $24/year for 6 standard issues plus the bonus issues. In order to continue to produce the magazine, support our staff, and pay our contributors professional market rates, we’re increasing our annual price in the coming weeks.
